Product Attributes Supplied to the GORWG: T. Schmit supplied a list of required Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R product attributes to the GOES Operational Requirements Working Group (GORWG). Attributes include, but are not limited to, spatial and temporal resolutions, mapping uncertainty, data latency, refresh rate, and measurement uncertainty. The list of attributes should be reviewed more broadly within the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), e.g., by the Product Oversight Panels. It is available upon request. (T. Schmit, E/RA2, 608-263-0291)

ASPT Survey Feedback Action Meeting: The Advanced Satellite Products Team (ASPT) held its 2002 Survey Feedback Action (SFA) meeting on Tuesday, June 18, on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.  Christine Krause, a National Weather Service meteorologist (Chicago), was the facilitator for the meeting.  The SFA results were discussed at length and action plans were formulated.  They will be submitted to the ActionTracker system this week. (J. Key, E/RA2, 608-263-2605)

Information Provided to ORA Director: Information and materials were supplied to the Office of Research and Applications (ORA) director on two topics. The first topic was the length of time typically taken for implementation, from research to operations, of specific Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) retrieval products. One to three years seems to be the norm, depending on whether the beginning date is the initial "request date" filed by a customer or the date when code is actually provided by the research group.  The second topic involved uses of GOES Sounder data in forecasting situations and their use by the National Weather Service (NWS). The presentation is available upon request. (G. Wade, E/RA2, 608-263-4743; T. Schmit, E/RA2, 608-263-0291)
