Infusing satellite Data into Environmental Applications (IDEA) Meeting with State of Wisconsin: A. Wimmers and S. Bachmeier met with State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources / Bureau of Air Management staff on September 8 to discuss the Infusing satellite Data into Environmental Applications (IDEA) project. They discussed techniques for interpreting true color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data and MODIS aerosol products, as well as validating chemical transport models with MODIS data to fulfill state requirements to improve air quality at protected locations. The state air quality forecasters provided input on how to improve the utility of the IDEA web site and product suite. (A. Wimmers, CIMSS, 608.263.3294, S. Bachmeier, CIMSS, 608.263.3958)
