First GOES-R ATBD Submitted: The Cloud Mask Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD) was submitted to the GOES-R Algorithm Working Group (AWG) this week. This ATBD is the first one delivered to the AWG and was done early to help optimize the template for future ATBDs. WMO Space Task Group for IPY Telecon: The World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Space Task Group (STG) for the International Polar Year (IPY) met via telecon on August 8. The STG was established for the purpose of space agency planning, processing, and archiving of IPY Earth Observation legacy datasets. Jeff Key and Pablo Clemente-Colon are NOAA representatives on the STG. During this telecon, space agency data "portfolios" for IPY continued to be discussed. (J.
