Manuscript Accepted for Publication in Monthly Weather Review: A manuscript entitled "Comparison of WRF model-simulated and MODIS-derived cloud data" was accepted for publication in Monthly Weather Review. The paper by Jason Otkin (Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies) and Thomas Greenwald (CIMSS) examines the ability of different cloud microphysical and planetary boundary layer schemes implemented in the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model to realistically simulate cloud properties. XGOHI Acceptance Review Presentation: Tim Schmit made a (telecom) presentation at the eXtended GOES High-Inclination (XGOHI) Acceptance Review on October 9th. This issue is the remapping of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-10 Imager data to remove the affects of the increasing satellite inclination before the GOES VARiable (GVAR) datastream is broadcast. The presentation is entitled ‘XGOHI Image and Select Product Analysis”; it is available at ftp://ftp.ssec.wisc.edu/ABI/xgohi/XGOHI_summary_09Oct07.ppt. (T. Schmit will give a presentation on Future Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES).
