Visit by NWS Management Regarding Transfer of Research to Operations: On Tuesday, 27 January 2009, five representatives from the National Weather Service (NWS) Sullivan (Milwaukee) forecast office visited the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS). The visitors were S. Brueske, the new Meteorologist in Charge, and J. Weidenfeld, the new Information Technology Officer, B. Borghoff, J. Craven, and S. Davis. The theme was "Catering to the satellite needs of operational meteorology". Oral presentations were given by a number of CIMSS personnel, as well as T. Schmit, G. Wade, R. Aune, and B. Pierce of the Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB). J. Gerth and K. Bah (CIMSS) gave demonstrations of CIMSS' satellite product developments within the legacy Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) and the migrated beta version.
