Air Quality Research Subcommittee Briefing: A summary of Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB) and Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) GOES-R and Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA) air quality research activities was provided to NOAA Air Quality Program Management (James Meagher, NOAA/Earth System Research Laboratory) for presentation at the Administration’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Sustainability (CENRS), Air Quality Research Subcommittee (AQRS). ITEMS FOR THE DIVISION CHIEF, CoRP:

STAR Book Contributions: A new version of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) Sounder instability contribution to the upcoming STAR book/brochure was delivered to the editors, G. Ohring and M. Goldberg. The new version has  simplified figures that show how the Sounder was able to monitor rapid destabilization. (G.S. Wade, E/RA2, 608-263-4743, gary.s.wade@noaa.gov; T.
