News Articles on Arctic Climate: Jeff Key was interviewed at the 2011 European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) Meteorological Satellite Conference (Oslo, Norway, 5-9 September) by a reporter for the online news sites Videnskab.dk (Danish; http://videnskab.dk/miljo-naturvidenskab/den-globale-opvarmning-haemmer-sig-selv) and Forskning.no (Norwegian; http://www.forskning.no/artikler/2011/september/297733). The articles focused on the impact of clouds on Arctic climate, work by Yinghui Liu (Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies, CIMSS), Key, and Xuanji Wang (CIMSS) that Key presented at the conference. GOES-R 100% Maturity Cryosphere ATBDs Submitted:: The 100% maturity GOES-R Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBD) for ice cover and concentration, ice age, and ice motion were submitted to the GOES-R Algorithm Integration Team (AIT). These three ATBDs contains a root-level description of the algorithms, which are designed to utilize the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) observations to detect the ice cover, retrieve the ice concentration, derive the ice thickness and age, and calculate the ice motion.
