NASA Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (AQAST) Meeting: Brad Pierce attended the NASA Air Quality Applied Sciences Team (AQAST) meeting at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Research Triangle Park campus in Raleigh Durham, NC, November 16-18, 2011. The NASA AQAST meeting was held in conjunction with the US EPA Air, Climate and Energy (ACE) meeting and focused on reviewing progress of AQAST activities, initiating Tiger Team projects, and discussing how AQAST can support the US EPA ACE program research objectives. Brad Pierce is the NOAA/NESDIS liaison to AQAST. He presented plans for his Tiger Team project involving development of improved lateral boundary conditions for Operational forecasts within the National Air Quality Forecasting Capability (NAQFC) and provided an update on NOAA/NESDIS Liaison activities which focus on GOES-R calibration and validation during NASA airborne field campaigns (R.B. Cloud Retrieval Evaulation Workshop: Andy Heidinger and Mike Pavolonis participated in the third Cloud Retrieval Evaluation Workshop (CREW) held in Madison, Wisconsin. The CREW meetings are supported by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The roughly 70 participants came from multiple European and American organizations. The goal of CREW is to bring together the scientists who do cloud remote sensing and provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and techniques. ITEMS FOR THE DIVISION CHIEF, CoRP:

Annual property inventory completed at ASPB: The annual FY2012 wall-to-wall property inventory for all NOAA property assets at the Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB) was completed on 16 November 2011, and the resulting documentation was provided to NESDIS property staff. All current 80 assets assigned to ASPB in the official NESDIS property management system (called Sunflower) were located and verified. One outstanding ASPB asset not yet in Sunflower awaits resolution of its payment status before entry into Sunflower. Seventeen obsolete or unused assets have been identified, and are in process of being returned as surplus equipment to the NOAA Property Warehouse (Maryland). (G. S.
