GOES-R Fog/Low Cloud Products Transitioned to AWC Operations Floor: The fog/low cloud products developed by next generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES-R) Algorithm Working Group (AWG) have been successfully transitioned to the operations floor at the Aviation Weather Center (AWC) (http://goesrawt.blogspot.com/2012/07/r-to-o-update-low-cloud-and-fog.html). The products, which include the probability of hazardous ceilings/visibilities and fog thickness from the current GOES Imager and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), will be evaluated in AWC operations over the next several months as part of the Satellite Proving Ground.
