Warn-on-Forecast Workshops: The Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB) and Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) participated in the Warn-on-Forecast Week that was held February 4-7, 2013 in Norman, OK at the National Weather Center. This consisted of two workshops: the Technical Workshop on Numerical Guidance to Support Warn-on-Forecast and the Warn-on-Forecast/High-Impact Weather Workshop. Presentations were given on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI), the assimilation of cloudy radiances, and the impact of satellite measurements in high-impact weather situations. There were representatives from National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), Storm Prediction Center (SPC), Environmental Modeling Center (EMC), Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS), Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA), NOAA office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), and others. One of the meeting goals was to better integrate satellite information in the warn-on-forecast project (http://www.nssl.noaa.gov/projects/wof). (T. CIMSS VISIT Activities: S. Lindstrom led the Virtual Institute for Satellite Integration Training (VISIT) lesson "Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Fog/low stratus (FLS) products" on February 4, with staff from the National Weather Service forecast office at Monterey, California participating in the training. In addition, the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) Satellite Blog was updated with a post containing a variety of satellite images of the intense winter storm that affected the Northeast US, producing heavy snow and blizzard conditions on February 8-9 (http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/blog/archives/12324). Twenty Obsolete Property Assets Retired at ASPB: On 01 February 2013, Larry Oates of the NOAA Logistics Operations Division/Personal Property Management Branch (PPMB) signed off and accepted the retirement of twenty (20) old, obsolete property assets held at the Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB) in Madison, WI. These assets had been reviewed, following the NOAA National Disposal Plan for Personal Property Management, by PPMB staff, and deemed appropriate as excess for disposal as scrap. The ASPB located a local disposal company, compliant with NOAA requirements to be environmentally responsible, and after sanitizing all disks, delivered the assets for disposal. This was the first successful retirement of excess assets since the previous procedure (to ship such assets to the Brandywine, MD federal warehouse) had been ended over a year ago. (G. S.
