Paper on Validation of Hyperspectral IR Cloud-top Heights Published: The manuscript titled "Evaluation of single field-of-view cloud top height retrievals from hyperspectral infrared sounder radiances with CloudSat and CALIPSO measurements" was published in the Journal of Geophysical Research – Atmospheres. UW-SSEC Hosts the McIDAS Users Group Meeting in Madison: The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) held the latest McIDAS (Man-computer Interactive Data Access System) Users Group (MUG) Meeting in Madison, WI, 09-12 Sep 2013. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of McIDAS, the meeting gathered a variety of users (domestic and international; operations and research) and explored the most recent developments as well as plans and directions for the future of one of the oldest existing systems for accessing and exploiting satellite and ancillary data. T. J. Schmit gave a presentation on GOES-R (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R); G. S. Wade attended the training day on new scripting capabilities with McIDAS-V.
