The CIMSS Science Symposium is held semi-annually. The focus of this symposium was geospatial issues, particularly as the relate to activities of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Wisconsin. USGS scientist participated in the symposium and gave three presentations: Jordan S Read (USGS), "Web-enabled modeling and analysis of surface waters"; Stephen Westenbroek (USGS), "Water-budget modeling at multiple scales"; Jason Rohweder (USGS LaCrosse), Spatial analyses for ecological studies. Presentation by CIMSS/Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) scientists were: Shane Hubbard, "Climatological changes to water volumes and flood events in the Midwest"; Sam Batzli, "Enhanced Access to Landsat 8 Imagery"; Dave Parker, "SSEC RealEarth: Accessing Real-time GeoSpatial Data Using Web Map Services". JPL Profile on B. Gjermo: NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) SciJinks educational web page posted a profile on Britta Gjermo. This profile was part of the October 2014 Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-R Series Program Education and Public Outreach (EPO) Team meeting that was held in Madison, Wisconsin. ASPB Completes the 2014 Combined Federal Campaign Pledges:  The Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB) completed the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) during December 2013 with a donation total of almost $3700 to the Badgerland CFC in Madison, WI. One NOAA Office of Atmospheric Research (OAR) colleague, who splits time at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS), also contributed to this generous total from the NOAA contingent at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS), wherein the ASPB is stationed in Madison. With this contribution, a participation rate of 116% was achieved. (T. Schmit, E/RA2, 608-263-0291)
