Elementary School Tour Groups Visit CIMSS: Over the past two weeks, scientist Tim Olander from the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) served as a contact person and tour guide for seven separate elementary school groups participating in their "Urban Adventure" field trips. The field trip provides an opportunity for the students to navigate their way around sections of Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison on their own (while being chaperoned by an adult) through a tour of several landmarks around the city. Tim provided the groups with a brief history and overview of satellite meteorology conducted at CIMSS and assisted the groups in finding the required information within the Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Science Building to complete their scavenger hunt. This is the third year Tim has participated in the Urban Adventure field trips conducted currently by two Madison Metropolitan School District elementary schools. (T. Olander, CIMSS, 608-265-8005)
