Manuscript on new sounding retrieval method published : An manuscript titled "Retrieval of Atmospheric Temperature and Moisture Vertical Profiles from Satellite Advanced Infrared Sounder Radiances with a New Regularization Parameter Selecting Method" has been published in Journal of Meteorological Research, co-authors are Kun Zhang (CMA), Chunqiang Wu (CMA) and Jun Li (CIMSS). Paper Published in Journal of Climate: The paper "Past and projected changes in western North Pacific tropical cyclone exposure" by James Kossin (NCEI/CWC), Kerry Emanuel (MIT), and Suzana Camargo (Columbia University) was published this week in the Journal of Climate and is available here: http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/abs/10.1175/JCLI-D-16-0076.1. 4th US National Climate Assessment Report Draft Completed: The First Order Draft (FOD) of the Climate Science Special Report (CSSR) for the Fourth National Climate Assessment (NCA4) was completed this week. Jim Kossin (NCEI/CWC) serves as the Chapter Lead on chapter 9 ("Extreme Storms") and as a Lead Author on chapters 1 ("Introduction: The Changing Climate"), 3 ("Detection and Attribution of Climate Change"), and 5 ("Large-Scale Circulation and Climate Variability").
