The purpose of AQRS is to advise and assist the CENRS and the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Office (OSTP) on the coordination and enhancement of the effectiveness of U.S. air quality research and is co-chaired by NOAA and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The briefing presented a summary of LMOS 2017 mission objectives and planning activities, and how measurements from LMOS 2017 will be used to understand how lake breeze circulations transport ozone precursor emissions from Milwaukee and Chicago leading to ozone exceedances along the western shore of Lake Michigan (R.B. Global Cryosphere Watch Team Meetings: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Global Cryosphere Watch (GCW) program held meetings of the CryoNet Team and the Best Practices Team 20-24 September 2016 in Graz, Austria. The meetings were hosted by the University of Graz. The CryoNet Team finalized the criteria by which surface stations will be added to the GCW network and evaluated many of the proposed sites. The Best Practices Team began the long process of compiling a "GCW Guide", which will include recommended practices for surface measurements, data exchange mechanisms, and satellite product intercomparison procedures. Jeff Key attended as a member of both Teams and as the GCW Senior Science Advisor. More information on GCW is available at http://globalcryospherewatch.org. (J.
