Christmas Blizzard: Satellite images of a strong winter storm that intensified over the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest on December 25-26, 2016 were posted on the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) Satellite Blog (http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/blog/archives/22876). The storm produced blizzard conditions over a large area, with snowfall totals as great as 22.0 inches in North Dakota and wind gusts as high as 85 mph in Wyoming and 78 mph in Nebraska. (S.
