Participation in the NOAA-NASA Working Group on Space-based Lidar Winds: David Santek, of the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS), participated in the NOAA-NASA Working Group on Space-based Lidar Winds, which was held virtually from 17-19 November 2020. His presentation, entitled “Comparison and validation of Aeolus winds to AIRS 3D winds, rawinsondes, and reanalyses,” discussed the latest evaluation of the Aeolus 3D winds to those derived from tracking humidity features retrieved from radiances as observed by the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) on board the Aqua satellite.
