CIMSS scientist gives seminar at University of North Dakota: John Cintineo of the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies visited the University of North Dakota (UND) Department of Atmospheric Science as an invited speaker in their seminar series. He presented on machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques as applied to convective nowcasting, using remotely sensed sources such as GOES-R and the Multi-Radar Multi-Sensor network. John met with a number of graduate students and professors discussing ideas on how to incorporate machine-learning and/or satellite data into their research projects. (J.
