CIMSS Training at CAA in Muscat Oman: Scott Lindstrom from the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) was invited by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Muscat, Oman, to give in-person lectures on Tropical Cyclones and Satellite Data on 19-21 November 2023. Lecture material included basic Satellite interpretation (both infrared and microwave), where data can be found online, how tropical cyclone structure/intensity can be monitored with data online, and what might be available for tropical cyclone forecasters in the near future. Twenty CAA employees attended including both numerical modelers and forecasters. (S. Lindstrom, CIMSS, 608 263 4425)
