Transfer of GOES Wildfire ABBA to NESDIS Operations:
An updated version of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite
(GOES) Wildfire Automated Biomass Burning Algorithm (WF_ABBA, version 6.0)
processing system was installed and tested on the "gp14" machine in the Office
of Satellite Data Processing and Distribution (OSDPD) Satellite Services
Division (SSD). Required National Environmental Satellite, Data, and
Information Service (NESDIS) standard documentation was delivered to D.
McNamara (OSDPD/SSD). This represents the final step required for
the GOES-8/-10 Wildfire Automated Biomass Burning Algorithm (WF_ABBA, version
6.0) to be declared operational in NESDIS. (E. Prins, E/RA2, 608-263-6607,
