Arctic Council Cryosphere Project Sea Ice Meeting: A meeting of the Arctic Council's “Snow, Water, Ice and Permafrost in the Arctic (SWIPA)” project sea ice component was held in Oslo, Norway January 15-16, 2009. It was hosted by the Arctic Council’s Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Project (AMAP) secretariat at the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT). SWIPA was originally proposed as a component of the Norwegian Chairmanship of the Arctic Council. Jeff Key is one of the two US co-leads on the sea ice component of SWIPA.
