CIMSS and ASPB participation in CoRP Symposium and CIRA Visit: Steve Ackerman (Director, Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies, CIMSS), Agnes Lin (CIMSS student), Brent Maddux (CIMSS student), and M. Pavolonis (Advanced Satellite Products Branch, ASPB) attended the 2010 Cooperative Research Program (CoRP) Symposium in Fort Collins, CO. The CIMSS and ASPB contingent gave talks and/or posters on satellite-derived cloud climatologies, satellite data assimilation, and volcanic convection. The CoRP Symposium provided an opportunity for scientists and students to closely interact and discuss scientific research. In addition, M. Pavolonis visited the Regional and Mesoscale Meteorology Branch (RAMM) Branch and the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) located at the Colorado State University to discuss current and potential future collaborations on convective and volcanic cloud research.
