Quick Guide for NGFS Microphysics product created: Scott Lindstrom and Jason Otkin at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) have created a 1-page Quick Guide that describes the Red/Green/Blue (RGB) definitions and capabilities of the Microphysics RGB product that is used at the Next-Generation Fire System (NGFS) website (https://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/ngfs under the 'Documentation' tab). SSEC and CIMSS Scientists in the News: Scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) and the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) provide expert interviews, imagery and case studies to promote science and satellite imagery. This week: 1) CIMSS Satellite Blog contributors Scott Bachmeier and Scott Lindstrom published the following case studies: "30-second images of the NASA/Boeing Starliner launch" (June 05); "Lightning and Turbulence Probabilities to the northeast of Hawaii" (June 03); "Eruption of Kilauea on the Big Island of Hawai`i" (June 03); "Corral Fire in California" (June 02); "1-minute imagery to monitor deep convection for flooding potential across American Samoa" (June 01).
