CIMSS-NOAA WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE WEEK ENDING JULY 10, 2026
DATA, INFORMATION, AND USE-INSPIRED SCIENCE:
New CIMSS Webpage for Advanced Baseline Imager Cloud Product Comparisons: The cloud products team at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) has launched a new web-based tool for comparing products generated from the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI). The site provides side-by-side comparisons of products from the legacy ground system and a new cloud-based processing system. Products monitored include cloud mask, cloud top pressure, cloud optical depth, and cloud phase. These comparisons enable researchers to assess product consistency, identify discrepancies, and support validation of the new processing environment, helping ensure the quality and continuity of satellite-derived cloud products.
