Near real-time products for the polar regions are being developed and/or maintained for use by the scientific community.

Local Products

Products generated in toto at CIMSS and SSEC (though the actual data may come from outside) include:

• Polar clouds and radiation from the AVHRR
• Near real-time polar winds from MODIS and AVHRR
• Real-time polar winds and other products from direct broadcast data at McMurdo, Antarctica
• Real-time polar winds and other products from direct broadcast data at Tromsø, Norway
• Near real-time temperature inversions from MODIS

In support of the products above there are:

• Radiosonde profiles for the Arctic and Antarctic (today, if available)
• MRF model fields, Arctic and Antarctic: winds (today, if available) and surface temperature (yesterday).

• Antarctic station reports from the Weather Underground.
