  • IGOS Partners approve theme proposal (May)
  • Theme team forms (summer)
  • Outline of the Theme document and concise description of chapter contents completed (September – October)
  • November 2004: IGOS-P-11 meeting, in association with CEOS Plenary, reviews the outline and offers advice on direction

2005

  • First Cryosphere Theme workshop, Kananaskis, Alberta (March)
  • Presentation on Theme status to CEOS SIT and IGOS-P (May)
  • Outline revised (June)
  • First draft of the report and initial implementation plan completed (mid-September)
  • Revised first draft presented at the CEOS SIT and IGOS-P meeting (late November)

2006

  • Comments from community received and incorporated (February)
  • Second draft of the report and initial implementation plan completed (March)
  • Second Cryosphere Theme workshop, Japan (April)
  • Third Cryosphere Theme workshop, the Netherlands (October)
  • Theme report presented at CEOS SIT and IGOS-P meeting, Buenos Aires (November)
  • Report made available to public via web and announcement made over the Cryolist, Climlist, and Arctic Info online groups/lists, soliciting input from major research and operational groups (28 November)
  • CliC SSG reviews the first draft (December)
  • Comments from community received and incorporated (December - February)

2007

  • Continue to receive and incorporate comments from community (through February)
  • Prepare for publication (February - May)
  • Submit report to IGOS-P and CEOS SIT (15 April)
  • Presentation of report for approval at the IGOS-P meeting in Paris (IGOS-P-14, 30 May).
    THEME APPROVED!
  • Publish report (August)
